Building Whimsical Bouquets
Sat., June 27, 11:30am – l2:30pm
Instructor Meagan Elliot – In this class, students will learn the techniques and skills to create beautiful, cohesive, and whimsical floral arrangements. We will play with color and shape and scale to create stunning designs in a variety of vase sizes. Students will learn how to build support structures for arrangements and discover the components needed for a balanced bouquet. All greenery and flowers for this workshop are sourced from Bassetti’s Gardens and students will spend most of their time here creating two arrangements to take home. All floral supplies will be provided, as well. No prior floral experience is necessary.

All supplies will be furnished. If students can bring their own snips, that would be great.
Class fee $35

Plein Air Painting Workshop
Sat., July 25, 2026, 12:30 – 3:30pm
Instructor Judy Gilbert
Judy will lead a workshop on plein air painting from 12:30 – 3:30 pm at the gorgeous gardens of Bassetti’s Crooked Arbor. We’ll have 1/2 hour presentation of some principles of plein air painting, focusing on using water-based paint (gouache or water color) and then participants can set up in the garden and I’ll provide support as we paint away the afternoon. After 3:30, you can stay painting in the garden until closing at 4:30 pm.

Please bring: plein air painting supplies (paint, surfaces to paint on, palette, brushes, easel if you use one) and sun gear (sunscreen, hat). There is water available at the garden. You can paint in whatever medium you’d like, just plan on cleaning your brushes at home, as no paint can be poured into the sink. Feel free to bring a lunch or snacks and a drink; tap water will be available.
Workshop fee $35. Limited to 25 people.
How to Register: Email Judy at judygilbert.art (at) gmail.com if you have questions or you’d like to sign up.
Judy Gilbert is a Seattle-based painter who paints outdoors in the Pacific Northwest and in her travels in Maine, Mexico, and Portugal. She works in oils both plein air and in her home studio, but has come to love gouache as a cleaner, easily portable and expressive way to work outdoors.
