Never touched clay? No problem.
Touched clay and love it? Come play.
All materials will be provided for you to make a clay planter shaped like a pocket that will hang on an outdoor fence post or wall. You’ll get two pre-rolled slabs of clay and access to loads of tools with which to make your creation. Kristi will have finished pieces as examples and will also demonstrate at the beginning of the class. Your finished piece will be taken back to Kristi’s studio, fired and returned to Bassetti’s. A handout will be available for some options on planting the container.

Instructor: Kristi Silver
A part time potter, traveler, gardener, beader, welder and wife, Kristi Silver has had her hands in clay for ever. Her work is mostly utilitarian yet includes non-functional work, too. She claims, “I can’t stop making bowls” because as a left handed person, it took her much longer to master the wheel. She has been an active member of a pottery coop in Edmonds for over four decades. Her approach to clay is usually very practical and filled textures. She loves to experiment in all aspects of the clay world. In her mind, texture makes the world go around.
