Helper Ed and I have been active in the perennial and vegetable gardens taking out the buttercups and spreading Bailey’s compost. Thanks to my trusty new digging fork the job is made a little easier.
Friend Christine brought me a beautiful bunch of evergreen raspberry rooted whips. She helped me plant them in to rows. The plants are doing fine and already leafing out. I can’t wait to plop a berry in my mouth. Thanks Christine.
Before Spring arrived I had great fun giving two slide presentations on ‘Sculpture in the Gardens – Using Local Artists’. In February, I gave the talk to the Mukilteo Garden Club and in March I presented to the Cottage Gardeners Garden Club. I appreciated each club’s hospitality and giving me the opportunity to highlight the sculpture in Bassetti’s Gardens.
Everyone. Get ready. I am producing one more Garden Art Event. … Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26, 2016. All the details are coming up in my next blog. Til then I must hurry back to potting a lot of nursery plants for the Spring opening, April 15th. LB
