Hello from Bassetti’s! It may be snowing today, but spring is just around the corner (we hope). Very soon we will be announcing our 2023 opening date, and also some upcoming classes. The first will be on pruning trees and shrubs. Stay tuned for dates and times.
Garden tool class + new art in the garden
Hello, we’re deep into the heart (or heat) of summer. We have a class coming up quick, lots of new art available in the Garden Gallery, and two exciting new artworks in our permanent sculpture collection. Read on to learn more.
Taking Care of your Garden Tools Class, August 13th

Bring your favorite garden clippers or pruner. Presenter Owen Sarmany will have all the supplies to show you how to take the tool apart, clean it, sharpen the blade(s), and put the tool all back together. Owen attends the Lake Washington Institute of Technology Horticulture program and has much experience using and taking care of garden tools. Free (donations accepted).
Garden art available
We’re offering garden art by several local artists, including new work by Marilyn Wagner and Nancy Davis, and from Stan Richardson a lovely sculpture by Sandra Richardson.
New art additions in the gardens
We’re thrilled to have two new sculptures in the garden: ‘Verbascum’ by Jean Whitesavage and Nick Lyle and a Bird Tree by Arnie Garborg given to us by a friend of Bassetti’s Gardens.
Come visit Saturdays through September
We are open through the end of September on Saturdays from 11:30 am to 4:00 pm. Along with artwork in the Garden Gallery, some alpine plants and dwarf evergreen trees available for sale. We hope you can come enjoy the gardens and art.

Opening Day is May 7
Hello! We’re so happy spring is here. We have never seen the leaves so beautifully green and rhododendrons blooming so profusely. Bassetti’s Crooked Arbor Gardens is opening for the 2022 season May 7 from 11:30am to 4pm. We will be open through September every Saturday (11:30am to 4pm).
Garden tool care presentations, 1 pm, May 7 and May 14
On opening day, May 7, and the following Saturday, May 14, we will have a special class on taking care of your garden tools, especially shears and pruners. Presenter Owen Sarmany attends the Lake Washington Institute of Technology Horticulture program and has much experience using and taking care of garden tools. At 1:00 pm on May 7 and May 14, he will give a demonstration and talk on being good to your garden tools. Bring your shears or pruners and ask Owen questions you may have in taking care of your garden shears.
Plants for sale
This year we are making some plants available for sale: auriculas, lavender, and select trees. We are propagating more and more of my dwarf trees and some alpine plants and will eventually have more for sale.
We look forward to seeing you taking a walk through our gardens, enjoying the plants, trees and sculpture.
All the best,
Leanette
