Feel the impulse to capture a lovely garden
in a sketch? Do you like to add drawings to your garden journal?
If you want to become more comfortable with your drawing and painting
of flowers and gardens, this workshop is for you. Keep forever
a watercolor of that bouquet of blooms on your table. Illustrate
your travel journal with quick sketch impressions.
Improve your confidence with simple pencil, ink, watercolors and
watercolor-pencil sketching. Drawing is about your approach, practicing
seeing proportions and knowing when to stop! We will
start with learning to see the shapes like an artist and doing
easy drawing warm-ups. Use a viewfinder, place a composition on
paper and add color with water media.
Draw from the gardens around us at Bassetti’s Crooked
Arbor Gardens and from a bouquet “still life.” Everyone will take
home an 8 x 10” guided step-by-step watercolor painting, plus many how-to
sketches and paintings.
Materials are provided. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your
sketchbook or garden journal!
