Saturday, May 10, 2008 10:00Am – 12 Noon, (One Day
Class, Two hours)
Class Fee: $35 Supply Fee: $15
Instructor: Shannon Hartzog
Maximum Students 12, Minimum 5
The willow trellis you will make in this class will look gorgeous
with a nice clematis or jasmine growing through it. It can
be used indoors or out and works great in a large container. You
can create its size to suit the container and plant you intend
to use with it, anywhere from 2-4 feet in height. It is a
fun and easy project and you will go home with a beautiful plant
support for your favorite climber.
The instructor will supply the willow. Bring hand clippers, gloves,
and wear casual clothes.

I have enjoyed learning about basketry and creating pieces of functional art
for the home and garden for the past 7 years. I live in Mountlake Terrace with
my family where I have recently retired from my 18 year home childcare business
and am now working as an organic gardener and a dog wrangler. I have a
5 acre farm at the base of Lord Hill in Snohomish where I keep my horses
and gardens where willow, cut flowers, berries and vegetables are grown. It
is also the home of my beautiful laying hens for which I keep for entertainment
and delicious eggs. I have been designing and making baskets and obelisks at
Bassetti’s Garden Art Show for the last two years and will be at the
show again this year. I have also conducted classes at other venues.
